Brianna Brown
Founder, Designer
"Originally from Michigan, I received my A.S. in digital media from Leeward Community College on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, I worked as a graphic designer for a printing and framing company. My work often included digital photo restoration, creating collages and signage, and design work for local artists. From there I moved to Boulder, Colorado where I gained a love of fine art printing as a print production designer for a local print shop. In this position, I was responsible for the quality and color accuracy of gallery prints for many well-known photographers, including some regularly featured in National Geographic. I also gained experience in sewing, assembling, and finishing large-format prints and graphics. This was an excellent opportunity to marry my love of digital art with hands-on, industrial applications.
After moving back to Michigan, I decided to work toward my goal of teaching art, graphic design, and printing to career center students. I'm in my second year at SVSU majoring in visual art education. Three of my art pieces are currently displayed in the 2025 Student Art Showcase. As an art educator, I hope to bring real-world knowledge of the printing and graphic design industry. Currently, I own Black Cat Graphics, which prints and manufactures advent calendars sold at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, and I also manage a vintage and antiques booth at the Birch Run Outlets. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my golden retriever, Butters, thrifting, and painting. I'm excited to continue learning and sharing my passion for art."
